Where was the flute created?

In Germany scientists found a three holed flute that was made out of mammoth tusks that was found in a cave, that dated back all the way to 30 000 years ago.

Why was the flute created?
The flute was created to be used in spirituals and during the military. People use the flute in bands for playing the melodies in the band since it can range over 3 octaves ( depending on the flute ), it also blends well with all the other instruments.
Theobald Boehm
Theobald Boehm was the first person to create the metal flute also known as the concert flute.
Theobald Boehm was a German inventor and musician. He perfected the first concert flute,
he also improved the fingering system. He experimented with a bunch of different
materials for creating the flute. He normally would use tropical wood,
copper, silver, gold and nickel. He also experimented with different fingering systems.
